Single Supplement £330

Some 120 miles north of John O'Groats, the Shetland Islands are Britain’s most northerly frontier. Originally a Viking settlement, they were Norwegian territory until the 15th century, when they were transferred to Scottish rule. This rich blend of culture, dramatic landscapes carved over centuries by the Atlantic, and sparse population combine to promise a truly unique and memorable holiday. The overnight ferry from Aberdeen to Lerwick and a three-night stay at the modern Shetland Hotel will allow for four full days on the Isles. We stay overnight at the Angus Hotel in Blairgowrie on the outward journey, allowing for a leisurely tour through Royal Deeside. Our homeward journey includes an overnight stop at the iconic Midland Hotel in Morecambe. Half board accommodation is provided throughout the tour, including cabins on the ferry. Availability of single rooms is extremely limited.

PROVISIONAL EXCURSIONS: Glenshee & Ballater; Shetland South Mainland, North Mainland, Yell & Unst
