Eastbourne is often referred to as the ‘Sun Trap of the South’, thanks to its east-facing seafront and natural shelter from the prevailing south-westerly winds. The town boasts excellent shops, gracious buildings, beautifully kept parks, tree-lined avenues, and splendid promenade walks. Serving as an ideal base for exploring the south of England, Eastbourne offers easy access to breathtaking coastal scenery, rolling countryside, and historic sites filled with ancient architecture. We stay half board at the tranquil Hydro Hotel, a distinguished Victorian building set within its own private gardens with fine coastal views. The hotel has a small lift. Meals are provided in the elegant restaurant, which offers excellent traditional English food. The town centre is a pleasant walk, or short bus ride away.
